RoboCity2030 at the European Robotics Week

RoboCity2030 will be at the European Robotics Week (26/11-2/12/2012, (www.robotics-week.eu)) through activities of the University Carlos III of Madrid and the Center for Automation and Robotics – CAR (CSIC-UPM). The activities will include:rnrnUniversidad Carlos III de MadridrnPerception for dexterous manipulation with anthropomorphic hands (exhibition for university students). Researchers of RoboticsLab are participating in the European research project HANDLE (http://www.handle-project.eu). The project aims at understanding how humans perform the manipulation of objects in order to replicate abilities and in-hand movements with an anthropomorphic artificial hand. Last November 16th took place the 1st Workshop Robotics Lab Autumn 2012 with the aim of joining common efforts between the different research lines within UC3M”s group. The speakers were Jorge Garcia Bueno, Fernando Alonso Martín, Juan Carlos Gonzalez Víctores y Choukri Bensalah. This workshop was open to students in the Master of Robotics and Automation and students who are researching to present their degree project.

Seminario del profesor Farshid Amirabdollahian que tendrá lugar el próximo día 12/11/2012 en la Sala 2.1.C17 (Edif. Sabatini, UC3M, Leganés) a las 12:00.rnFarshid Amirabdollahian es un investigador y profesor universitario en la School of Computer Science de Hertfordshire (Reino Unido). Obtuvo su título de doctor en 2004 en la Universidad de Reading acerca del uso de robots para la terapia para la rehabilitación de pacientes con infarto.

Sabatini, UC3M, Leganés) at 12:00.rnFarshid Amirabdollahian is a Senior Lecturer (research) in the School of Computer Science at Hertfordshire. He received his PhD in 2004 from Reading University school of Cybernetics, focusing on robot-mediated therapy for stroke rehabilitation.

Our colleague Santiago Martínez de la Casa (UC3M) presented in July, 13, 2012 his PhD Thesis. Its title is Human Inspired Humanoid Robot Control Architecture. The directors of the thesis were Carlos Balaguer and Alberto Jardón. The examing board was formed by Pedro J. Sanz, Karsten Bern, Ramón Barber, Manuel Armada and MiguelÁngel Salichs. He received the highest rating possible.

Nuestro compañero Santiago Martínez de la Casa (UC3M) presentó el día 13 de julio su Tesis Doctoral. El título del trabajo es Human Inspired Humanoid Robot Control Architecture y los directores son Carlos Balaguer y Alberto Jardón. El tribunal de tesis estaba formado por by Pedro J. Sanz, Karsten Bern, Ramón Barber, Manuel Armada y MiguelÁngel Salichs. Obtuvo la máxima calificación posible.

Nuestro compañero Paolo Pierro (UC3M) presentó el día 20 de junio su Tesis Doctoral. El título del trabajo es Stabilizer Architecture for Humanoid Robots Collaborating With Humans y los directores son Carlos Balaguer y Concepción Monje. El tribunal de tesis estaba formado por Dolores Blanco, Eiichi Yoshida, Philippe Sou√®res, Giulio Sandini y MiguelÁngel Salichs. Obtuvo la máxima calificación posible.
