The research group of the CSIC (Institute for Industrial Automatics) (http://www.iai.csic.es) is a multi-discipline group with more than 25 researchers, ten of which are doctors. This institute has ore than twenty-five years of experience in robotics, a very important participation in projects and EU networks, National Plans and in the CM. Its activities in robotics focuses on Service Robotics, covering the technical aspects, and the applications: walking and climbing robots for civil engineering, and naval constructions, robots with wheels for gardening, and agriculture, humanoid robots, humanitarian robots and robots for rehabilitation. Currently, this institution participates in six CICYT projects, mainly in the field of Robotics (DPI program), in two European projects of the 6th PM in Robotics (SAFERDRILL, SPREEX), in the European Network Clawar, in the CSIC Pilas Network, in the Ribero & Ritool networks of CYTED, and in several industrial projects.
