Researchers at the Robotics Lab UC3M have developed the world’s first humanoid robot that can iron garments using the TEO robot. This is the first advance towards an autonomous Robot Household Companion that can perform laundry. The method is inspired by how humans perform the ironing task. On 19th of June of 2017 the awards ceremony of the “9th Prototyping Contest: Digitalisation and Automation. Industry 4.0” was celebrated,organised by SIEMENS S.A. The application ‘iFarmacia’, developed by the students Marta Moreno Garcia-Moreno and Alejandro Rodríguez Alvarez and directed by the Dr. Santiago Martínez de la Casa Diaz from the Systems Engineering and Automation Department from the Carlos III University of Madrid, was awarded with the UNIVERSITIES’ SPECIAL PRIZE valued in 2500€ of SIEMENS equipment.

The robotics challenge Robotize Your Idea will offer the possibility of presenting innovative ideas in the RoboCity16 Conference. Candidates should download the form and fill it with a 100 words description and an optional picture/figure/scheme. The maximum number of submissions per person is 3. The ideas will be presented in less than three minutes (May, 26th at the conference).

There are four basic thematic fields of interest (other proposals with be assigned to one of these):
