On Tuesday 28th, Professor Bruno Siciliano will come to UC3M to give a lecture at 12:30 (“Robotics Meets AI & 5G – The Future is Now!”).

Bruno Siciliano is professor of robotics and control at the University of Naples Federico II. He is also Honorary Professor at the University of Óbuda where he holds the Kálmán Chair. His research interests in robotics include manipulation and control, human–robot cooperation, and service robotics. Fellow of the scientific societies IEEE, ASME, IFAC, AAIA, he received numerous international prizes and awards, including the 2022 Engelberger

The European Flexigrobots project (https://flexigrobots-h2020.eu/), in which RoboCity2030-DIH-CM participates through our CSIC partner, is carrying out a series of virtual demonstrations to present the project and the work carried out to stakeholders such as DIH, farmers, cooperatives… The idea is to present the technologies that have been developed within the project in order to validate their sustainability and their future development and commercial possibilities.

rom 24 October, the Global Mobily Call will be held at IFEMA, in which the EDIH Madrid Region, in which the UC3M Robotics Lab is participating, plays an important role.
The following events are of particular relevance within a very interesting agenda:

October 26th: Meeting/Networking with the public sector to promote public-private initiatives.

The UC3M Robotics Lab group, through this Community of Madrid RoboCity2030 consortium (UC3M, UPM, CSIC, UAH, URJC, UNED), is part of the European Digital Innovation Hub EDIH Madrid Region, launched this year. The objective of this European hub, co-funded by the EU and the Community of Madrid (coordinator) is to promote digitalisation (including automation, robotics, AI, etc.) in SMEs (mainly) and public administrations.

Within this context, and to publicise the free services offered to these entities, we have launched, with the rest of the EDIH partners, the event in webinar format:

As members of the EDIH Madrid Region we have received a request from the coordinators to disseminate the opportunity for Spanish companies to participate in MWC23 Shanghai.

The selected companies will have an exhibition space in a global event where, in addition, they will be able to participate in different sessions and conferences to expand their business opportunities. The mission is free of charge for the participating companies and, in addition, they may receive a grant of up to €1,000 for travel and accommodation expenses (50% co-financing).

RoboCity2030 participates as a strategic partner in the Digital Transformation Day for SMEs to be held on March 30th at IFEMA. The event is organised by Global Robot Expo and promoted by the Community of Madrid.

On 22 March, the conference La robótica inteligente en los retos de salud y asistenciales (Intelligent robotics in the challenges of health and care) will take place. The opening will be carried out by Ana Isabel Cremades Rodríguez, General Director of Research and Technological Innovation of the Community of Madrid and Paloma Díaz, Director of the Polytechnic School, UC3M. The full-day conference includes a morning part related to these challenges in the framework of our programme (RoboCity2030-DIH-CM) and in the afternoon it will deal with the symmetric human-robot interaction in

The general meeting of the IROPER project, whose coordinator is Carlos Balaguer, was held on 23 February at UC3M. The project is funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Proyectos de I+D+i en líneas estratégicas, PLEC2021-007819). At the meeting, the progress of the project and of each of its work packages was analysed.

On 13 February, on the occasion of the RoboCity2030-DIH-CM management committee meeting, a tribute was paid to professors Rafael Aracil (UPM) and Manuel Armada (CSIC). In this tribute, a plaque was presented as a sign of admiration for their professional career and gratitude for their involvement in the programme since its inception. The plaque was collected by Rafael Aracil and Pablo Gonzalez (on behalf of Manuel Armada, who was unable to attend the event).
