IARX2022, Ibero-American Robotic Rehabilitation Symposium
With the aim of closing gaps at the Ibero-American level in the use of robotic technology in healthcare, LatamnovaTECH is organising IARX2022 Ibero-American Symposium on Robotic Rehabilitation, which will be held from 23-26 May 2022, via free streaming.
Currently, there are 2.4 billion people in the world who have a health condition that benefits from rehabilitation, i.e. more than 15% of the global population according to a study by the World Health Organization (WHO). Faced with this, 21st century tools, such as robotics and technology, have managed to provide solutions to significant problems in this area, generating more efficient and effective treatments, capable of infinitely improving their quality of life.
This challenge motivated the consultancy Latamnova -through its unit LatamnovaTECH, dedicated to the area of conferences and consultancy in technology, Industry 4.0 and digital transformation-, together with Exosqueleto REHAB -a company dedicated to the production of active orthoses- to organise IARX2022, The First Ibero-American Symposium on Robotic Rehabilitation. This event will give the opportunity to convene and bring together the different stakeholders involved in rehabilitation technology, in order to close gaps at the Ibero-American level.
Given the growing interest in robotic rehabilitation, RoboCity2030 supports IARX2022 and is a sponsor of the event. From this Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) of the Community of Madrid, we believe that this is a new opportunity to build bridges with Latin America in the field of robotics at the service of citizens.
In this event, which will be held in streaming for free, we will have the intervention of members of RoboCity2030 or associated with the DIH. Alberto Jardón, Director of the Laboratory of Assistive Robotics and Rehabilitation of the Science Park and professor at the University Carlos III of Madrid (coordinating member of the IHL). Marie André Destarac (Guatemala) Project Manager of the ATLAS exoskeleton at Marsi Bionics (spin-off of the CAR CSIC-UPM, member of the IHL).
RoboCity2030-DIH-CM is a programme funded by the Programmes of R&D Activities in Technologies of the Community of Madrid and co-financed by the European Social Fund of the European Union.
