Lunar Robotics Challenge
A lunar rover designed by students of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has participated to the Lunar Robotics Challenge of the ESA, an international competition held in the Teide Volcano, together with other seven prototypes form various european Universities. In this landscape, similar to the one that can be found in the moon s craters, the robots had to descent into a crater and collect soil samples, overcoming locomotion, communications and teleoperation difficulties in an harsh environment. The team hes been supervised by professors and researchers of the Robotics and Cybernetics Group of the UPM and coordinated by Claudio Rossi (member of RoboCity2030).
